The Sandbar is a new luxury Bahamian beach house located in Tar Bay. We are 6 minutes from the airport. The house is set on a dreamy 4 km private sandy beach. A picture perfect setting has been created for our guests with all the tropical entrapments of palm trees and stunning views of the legendary turquoise waters of Exuma.
A driveway entrance of carved out limestone and Coco Palms reveal an island home adorned with sky blue Bahamian shutters and a creamy white shiplap facade. A window glass door welcomes you where you can see the ocean as soon as you have arrived.
The Sandbar’s Commitment to Sustainable Living
Robbie and I are trying our best to create a home that is soft on the environment. We have installed a solar power system that supplies 50-60% of our homes needs. This includes all the lights, some of the A/C, the appliances, and the hot water.
We practice Exerscape Gardening - drought resistant plantings.
We discourage single-use plastic. We limit our own use of plastic.
We provide tote bags for your shopping needs. Exuma does not use plastic bags.
We use energy efficient lighting and appliances throughout.
We use ecofriendly cleaning products.
We have many hooks in bathrooms so you can hang up towels to dry and reuse.
