This is my new little adopted friend. The Exuma Humane Society is a wonderful organization to support. The Out Islands of the Bahamas have over 15,000 stray dogs, most that need medical attention and care. Ellen Ellison Sykes has organized a fundraiser to acquire an ultrasound machine for the center in Exuma.
I bought this handmade little Potcake at The Sandpiper. All proceeds go directly to this cause. The Potcake is a mixed breed, much like most of us, and very common to the Caribbean. They have been in the Bahamas for centuries. They have genetically evolved into the resistant champion that you see today.
There is discussion to train these dogs to provide as service dogs. These loving, loyal little mush balls have 200 million scent receptors vs. a human who has 5 million. From sniffing out drugs and bombs to being a trusted companion, the Potcake is worth giving a damn about!
